Frequently Asked Questions

What is counseling/therapy?

Counseling is a partnership between a trained therapist and a client. The therapist uses skills and specialized techniques to partner with the client to address the goals, challenges, and struggles the client wishes to tackle.

How long does it take?

Hikers

An individual session generally runs for 50 minutes.
A couple or family session generally runs for 90 minutes.
Some  people attend counseling for a few sessions to target a specific problem while others dive in deep and may spend several months in therapy getting to the core of long-term issues.

Are there different types of therapy?

Yes. Each client and each therapist are unique. Every therapist brings their gifts, worldview, training, and expertise to their practice. Although I will tailor my treatment plan to the needs of each client and I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy due to the effectiveness of both modalities. I also have additional training in LIfespan Integration Therapy, a gentle trama focused treatment.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. I offer both virtual and in-person sessions. Our virtual sessions occur over a HIPAA-compliant portal. Our in-person sessions occur at our Mill Creek office: 16300 Mill Creek Blvd, Suite 201, Mill Creek, WA 98012

How much does it cost?

A 50-minute session is $75.00 with a $3.00 credit card processing fee for a total of $78.00.
We do not bill insurance directly, but we will provide you with a superbill that you can electronically submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What does it mean that you are a counseling intern?

The title counseling intern means I am a second-year graduate student pursuing my master's degree in clinical and mental health counseling. I have finished my coursework and am now in the clinical portion of my studies working as a counselor to gain experience. I am supervised by my site supervisor as well as university faculty supervisors to ensure that you are receiving quality care. My projected graduation date is August 2025, at which point I will continue to work towards full licensure.
